There's something about people who love the Lord!

What an incredible understatement! The something, is in fact a someone, really "The One" who animates the lives of those whom He loves, and whom are loved by Him.

You can see it in their eyes, the way they look for opportunities to help, the cards they send, the smiles they offer freely!

I suppose other groups experience camaraderie, and a feeling of togetherness.

However, there is just "Something" so wonderful about people who have offered their lives, to the one who gave them life in the first place!

I am not suggesting it's always that way, and when it is not, it isn't because the Lord does not desire humility, and mutual respect...it's just at times the people we used to be, are the people we act like....in that moment there is an uneasiness...that only gives way when sin is confessed and hearts are refreshed and filled, with the love of God.

Non-believers simply are at times quite critical when a life is given to the Lord. There will be people in your own life who will wonder about your motives, your choices. People who are quite astounded that you are willing to submit to the authority of Christ in your moment by moment day to day life decisions.

Don’t be surprised when they don’t get it!

The Apostle Peter taught that such derision, should be expected:
Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God.

3 For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry. 4 With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you; 5 but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. (1 Peter 4:1-5).

We will all give an account! That future judgement, for Christians will be based on how we lived our lives for Jesus!

I am so blessed to serve a wonderful loving congregation that reflects His light, His love...
and while we will all have regrets
... at that future reckoning, it is comforting to have lived and seen with my earthly eyes a group of people who are decidedly committed to Jesus!
As a third-century man was anticipating death, he penned these last words to a friend: "It's a bad world, an incredibly bad world. But I have discovered in the midst of it a quiet and holy people who have learned a great secret. They have found a joy which is a thousand times better than any pleasure of our sinful life. They are despised and persecuted, but they care not. They are masters of their souls. They have overcome the world. These people are the Christians--and I am one of them."
The man discovered what I have found as well...there's something about people who love the Lord!

Oh yes there is...it is The Lord Jesus Christ living His life through His people, and it is beautiful!
