Believing without Seeing!

*An optical illusion (also called a visual illusion) is characterized by visually perceived images that differ from objective reality.

The information gathered by the eye is processed by the brain to give a perception that can often appear very different, as you continue to look at the image. *Wikipedia article

For instance what do you see in the picture above, two Pandas, more?

I count ten!

You can’t always trust your eyes!

When it comes to faith, seeing isn’t always believing! In fact: You can believe without seeing!

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”(Hebrews 11:1).

Today I am thinking of Jesus and his first healing miracle, when He healed a Nobleman's son.

Our Lord's encouter with the man, reminds us that while seeing isn’t always believing, believing and trusting the Lord with the concerns of life is anything but an illusion!

So he came again to Cana in Galilee, where he had made the water wine. And at Capernaum there was an official whose son was ill. 47When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. 48So Jesus said to him, "Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe." 49The official said to him, "Sir, come down before my child dies."

50Jesus said to him, "Go; your son will live." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way. 51As he was going down, his servant met him and told him that his son was recovering. 52So he asked them the hour when he began to get better, and they said to him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him." 53The father knew that was the hour when Jesus had said to him, "Your son will live." And he himself believed, and all his household.

(John 4:46-53). English Standard Version

What can we conclude about this amazing experience the nobleman had with our Lord Jesus?

1. Trouble Led Him To Jesus.

2. He Personally Went To Jesus.

3. He Asked For Mercy

Remember: Jesus doesn't always come to get us out of trouble, sometimes, He comes to get into trouble with us!

When we face a life experience that leaves us shaken and unsure of our next move, we are wise to take our troubles to the Lord!

When we do, believing will become seeing!
